Unique piece
Eposilea
Bulk carrier, solid dry bulk transport
The red and black. A dark hull eaten by rust along the waterline, a cream superstructure marked “Safety First, No Smoking”, bright yellow cranes. Everything here speaks of years at sea and of cargo after cargo.

The story of the work
The poetry of weary steel
Eposilea pushes Olivier Maynard’s signature to its limit: rust becomes a material in its own right, laid down with sponge and brush until it perfectly mimics salt-eaten steel. The gangways, the anchors, the hatch covers, the safety markings, every detail is treated as on a real working cargo ship.
Like every piece from the workshop, Eposilea is built using a mixed technique, wood, resin-charged plaster and brass, and follows no existing vessel.
